On Saturday, Aug. 24, Bellator MMA hosted its 225th event from the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Conn.
In the night’s main event, heavyweights Matt Mitrione and Sergei Kharitonov met for a second time. The pair met at Bellator 215 in February, but the fight ended in a no-contest after an accidental groin strike just 15 seconds into the match-up.
The co-main event pitted former heavyweight champion Vitaly Minakov against veteran Tim Johnson.
Preliminary-card action streamed live on the promotion’s website and DAZN at 5:45 p.m. ET. The night’s main card was simulcast on the Paramount Network and DAZN at 9 p.m. ET.
