Noche De Campeones: Tanaka Bests Acosta in 12-Round War

On Saturday, May 20, Hanataka promotions presented the WBO World Junior Flyweight title from the Takeda Teva Ocean Arena in Nagoya, Japan.

In the evening’s main event, WBO world junior flyweight champion Kosei Tanaka defended his title for the first time against WBO Latino light flyweight titleholder Angel Acosta. The two-division champion Tanaka, 21, had eight victories and five knockouts in his eight career bouts. The 26-year-old Cuban, Acosta, had finished all 16 of his opponents in his undefeated career.
