UFC 238 Results: Cejudo Stops Moraes, Shevchenko Crushes Eye

On Saturday, June 8, the UFC hosted UFC 238: Cejudo vs. Moraes from the United Center in Chicago.

In the night’s main event, the promotion crowned a new bantamweight king as flyweight titleholder Henry Cejudo moved up in weight to take on Brazilian Marlon Moraes. The belt was without an owner after T.J. Dillashaw was suspended two years by the USADA. Cejudo was last in action against Dillashaw, when Dillashaw dropped down to challenge for the 125-pound belt. Cejudo stopped Dillashaw in the first round to retain his title. Moraes, meanwhile, is a former World Series of Fighting champion who had scored three straight first-round finishes to earn his shot at gold.

The co-main event also featured gold on the line as women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko defended her title against No. 1 contender Jessica Eye.
