PFL Europe 1’s Cedric Doumbe: ‘I Want to Knock Everyone Out’

PFL MMA knockout star Cedric Doumbe was not shy about his intentions in mixed martial arts. The French striker competes in the main event of PFL Europe 1: 2024 Regular Season on Mar. 7 live from Paris.

“Le Meilleur” Doumbe was a standout kickboxing athlete who held the GLORY welterweight title. He went 4-0 in title matches winning each one by way of knockout. The French-born fighter then switched to MMA and has since gone a perfect 5-0 with a perfect one-hundred percent knockout win rate.

“I needed more money for what I deserved as a kickboxing world champion of the world but they didn’t. So I found the PFL.”

With a nine-second knockout, Doumbe put the MMA world on notice when he stopped Jordan Zébo in 2023. Football megastar Kylian Mbappe flew in just to witness this. Now, Doumbe is looking to do it again as he faces “Baki” Baissangour Chamsoudinov from the sold-out Accor Arena.

On a media call, Doumbe said:

“I want to be champion. I want to knock everyone out and show that I am the best and I can beat everybody also in MMA. I just want to show people that I’m special, and there’s no one like Cedric Doumbe. I want to show it and make history.”

Already, he believes he is the face of French MMA. He continued:

“I think, and I’m 100-percent sure, I am the face of MMA in France, and everybody knows that. Of course, it’s hard to say because for some people, if you’re not in the UFC, you can’t be the face of MMA because they think that UFC is where the top guys are at. That’s not wrong, but still, you don’t have to be UFC champion to be the face of MMA in your country.”

Cedric Doumbe has booked a hospital room for his opponent ahead of their showdown. With his background in kickboxing, and dynamite in his hands, Doumbe is on track to become an MMA star.
