Three Dream Match Ups to Main Event UFC 300

With UFC 300 just around the corner, speculation is running wild about which fight will main event this historic card. While nothing is set in stone, here are three dream fights that fans would love to see as the main event at UFC 300.

1. Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Georges St-Pierre

Both Khabib Nurmagomedov and Georges St-Pierre are considered two of the greatest fighters of all time. Nurmagomedov, the undefeated former lightweight champion, has dominated his opponents with his relentless grappling and ground control. St-Pierre, a former welterweight and middleweight champion, is known for his well-rounded skills and ability to adapt to any situation. Although both fighters are now retired, a main event matchup between these two legends would be a dream come true for MMA fans.

2. Leon Edwards vs. Conor McGregor

Although he has not competed in the Octagon since 2021, and is currently on a two-fight losing streak, the star power of Conor McGregor is still undeniable. Having transcended the UFC and the sport of MMA to an extraordinary level, any event involving McGregor still draws a huge level of interest amongst the most casual and even non-MMA fans alike.  Although expected to be fighting Michael Chandler later in the year, a match up for the welterweight championship between Conor and the current champion Leon Edwards, another superior southpaw striker, would send ripples through the MMA world if it were to be announced as the main event for UFC 300.

3. Jon ‘Bones’ Jones vs. Francis ‘The Predator’ Ngannou

The battle for the baddest man on the planet, arguably the most significant fight in MMA history. Would Jones be able to use his fight IQ, creativity and spiteful style to systematically break down Ngannou, or would the sheer power of the ‘Predator’ be too much for the former light heavyweight? This is a debate that has sparked amongst the MMA community ever since Jon Jones declared his move up to the heavyweight division. But with Ngannou now signed with the PFL and finding success in the boxing world, and with Jones currently recovering from injury and contemplating retirement, this is a fight we may never see happen. But one can still dream, and what better stage for that dream to take place on than the main event at UFC 300.
