ONE Championship’s U.S. Debut is Already Heating Up

With the ONE Championship U.S. debut closing in quickly, the fight card already has four solid fights lined up. The initially announced headliner, which has Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson facing Adriano Moraes for their trilogy bout, was already a highly anticipated fight. However, three more fights have been added.

One-time prodigy Sage Northcutt, who is still only 26 years old, spent eight fights in the UFC from OCt. 2015 to Jul. 2018. He was 6-2 in the promotion, with three wins by finish, yet the promotion decided to release him on a three-fight winning streak. He immediately was picked up by ONE, but he dropped his debut to Cosmo Alexandre in May 2019, where he suffered several facial fractures. He was scheduled to fight again in Apr. 2021, but had to pull out due to COVID-19. He will be back in action at ONE Fight Night 10, when he takes on Ahmed Mujtaba after four years on the bench.

Also announced is a mixed martial arts bout between Stamp Fairtex and Alyse Anderson. Both ladies only have two losses on their records in 19 combined fights. Stamp, who won the atomweight grand prix in 2021, lost her title fight against Angela Lee in Mar. 2021, but bounced back with a win over Jihin Radzuan last October. She was supposed to have a mixed-rules fight against Anissa Meksen in January but Meksen didn’t even show up for the weigh-ins, so Stamp beat Supergirl Jaroonsak in a Muay Thai bout. Anderson hasn’t fought since May 2022, when she submitted Asha Roka.

The fourth fight to be announced is Aung La N Sang vs. Fan Rong. The two were supposed to fight in January, but Fan had to pull out. The two will now meet in Colorado for the promotion’s debut on U.S. soil.

ONE Fight Night 10 hits the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colo., on Friday, May 5. Tickets are on sale now.
