Bellator 213 Results: Macfarlane Retains with Submission, Gracie Advances

On Saturday, Dec. 15, Bellator MMA held its 213th event from the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu.

In the night’s main event, women’s flyweight champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane defended her title in her home state against UFC veteran Valerie Letourneau. Macfarlane has opened her career with eight straight victories, including five by submission. She has finished her last three opponents by armbar. Canada’s Letourneau has earned back-to-back wins under the Bellator banner to earn her shot at gold.

In a thriller, the champ secured a triangle choke in the third round to retain her title.

The card also featured an opening-round bout in the promotion’s welterweight grand prix as Neiman Gracie took on Ed Ruth. Gracie scored a submission in the fourth round to advance.
