Invicta FC 11: Cyborg vs. Tweet Post-Fight Press Conference

On Friday, Feb. 27, Invicta Fighting Championships will host Invicta FC 11: Cyborg vs. Tweet from the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles.

The event will be headlined by the promotion’s featherweight champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino. The Brazilian will look to defend her 145-pound title against Canada’s Charmaine Tweet.

Justino has not competed in MMA since July of 2013 when she defeated Marloes Coenen via fourth-round TKO at Invicta FC 6. However, she has appeared in the kickboxing ring during that span, making two appearances under the Lion Fight Banner. Justino was originally expected to headline Invicta FC 10 in December, but was forced out after suffering a full thickness rupture of the anterior talofibular ligament in her left ankle.

Tweet will enter the title affair having won five of her last six fights. The 37-year-old has bounced between the featherweight and lightweight divisions throughout her career, most recently competing in the first 155-pound fight in Invicta history. In that fight at Invicta FC 8, Tweet stopped Veronica Rothenhausler via first-round TKO. All six of Tweet’s career victories have come inside the first round, including five by submission.

The night’s co-main event will feature unbeaten Mexican strawweight Alexa Grasso against Japan’s Mizuki Inoue. Grasso is coming off a violent, first-round TKO win over former WSOF title challenger Alida Gray in December. Inoue, meanwhile, will look to rebound from a split decision loss to Karolina Kowalkiewicz in November.

Also on the card will be another undefeated fighter in DeAnna Bennett. The former flyweight will make her strawweight debut against the returning Norma Rueda Center.

The event will stream live via the UFC’s digital network, UFC Fight Pass, beginning at 10 p.m ET.
