On Friday, Feb. 24, Legacy Fighting Alliance hosted its fifth event from the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colo. The venue was a frequent destination for Resurrection Fighting Alliance prior to its merger with Legacy Fighting Championships.
In the night’s main event, a pair of rising lightweight prospects went to battle as Colorado’s Marcus Edwards took on Adam Townsend.
The 27-year-old Factory X Muay Thai/MMA product Edwards has made the rounds on the regional circuit, competing for RFA, Legacy FC, Titan FC and MFC over the course of his career. He entered the bout having won four of his last five outings. Eleven of his 12 career wins have come before the final bell, including 10 inside the first round.

Tennessee’s Townsend has similarly competed all over the country with stops in RFA, Ring of Combat and V3. He rode the momentum of wins in 10 of his 11 fights. Much like Edwards, Townsend has a propensity for finishes, stopping 12 of his 16 career wins, including nine via submission.
The night’s main card aired live on AXS TV at 9 p.m. ET.
