Rivera (@JimmieRivera135) is on a 18-fight win streak, with his most recent victory being a Fight of the Night performance against Iuri Alcântara at UFC on Fox 18 in Newark, N.J. Rivera, a lifelong resident in New Jersey, was pleased to fight at home, which he can’t say the same for the time he fought abroad and was told he’s going to die.

Rivera talked about his youth and being the product of a single mom. After he was a victim of bullying, Rivera’s mom enrolled him in martial arts classes at Tiger Schulmann, where he got his first job teaching and still trains some 18 years later.

Though, Rivera is a successful UFC bantamweight on a roll, he spoke about the little kid inside him that geeks out when he’s around UFC stars.
