On Friday, Jan. 2, the UFC will host the weigh-ins for UFC 182: Jones vs. Cormier which takes place Saturday, Jan. 3, from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
In the night’s main event, light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will put his 205-pound title on the line against undefeated challenger Daniel Cormier. The 27-year-old Jones will look to make the eighth defense of his title. He most recently defeated Brazilian Glover Teixeira at UFC 172 in April. The Olympic wrestler Cormier, meanwhile, moved his record to 15-0 with a dominant submission win over former Pride and Strikeforce champion Dan Henderson at UFC 173.
The co-main event of the evening features the red-hot Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone against The Ultimate Fighter veteran Myles Jury. Cerrone went a perfect 4-0 in 2014, with three finishes. The lightweight bested former Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez at UFC 178 in September. Jury extended his record to 15-0 in September, stopping former Pride champion Takanori Gomi in just 92 seconds.
The 11-fight event kicks off Saturday at 7 p.m. ET with two fights streaming on UFC Fight Pass. Four additional preliminary card bouts follow at 8 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1, with the five-fight main card airing live on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. ET.
