On Friday, Nov. 14, the UFC will host the weigh-ins for UFC 180: Werdum vs. Hunt which takes place Saturday, Nov. 15, from the Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City.
In the main event of the evening, the promotion will crown an interim heavyweight champion as Brazilian submission stalwart Fabricio Werdum locks horns with New Zealand knockout artist Mark Hunt. Werdum was originally slated to face UFC heavyweight kingpin Cain Velasquez, but a knee injury sidelined the champion. The 37-year-old Werdum has reeled off four straight wins since returning to the promotion in 2012. Hunt, meanwhile, is unbeaten in six of his last seven Octagon appearances. The 40-year-old Kiwi has stopped seven of his 10 career wins by knockout.
The co-main event features The Ultimate Fighter 17 winner Kelvin Gastelum against the hard-hitting Jake Ellenberger. Gastelum carries an unblemished, 9-0 record into the bout. Ellenberger will be looking to get back in the win column after dropping back-to-back fights to welterweight contenders Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald.
The event kicks off Saturday with two fights streaming live on UFC Fight Pass at 7 p.m. ET. Four additional preliminary card bouts follow on Fox Sports 1 at 8 p.m. ET, with the five-fight main card airing live on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. ET.
The fighters will hit the scales at 5 p.m. ET on Friday. A live video feed appears above (courtesy of the UFC), while the results appear below.
