On Saturday, Feb. 9, Bellator MMA kicked off its European series from the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, England.
In the night’s main event, veteran lightweight Patricky “Pitbull” Freire took on rising prospect Ryan Scope. The Brazilian Freire was hoping to earn another crack at champion Michael Chandler. Pitbull had reeled off four straight wins, including three by knockout. England’s Scope is a former BAMMA beltholder, who had not competed since late 2017, when he edged Mickael Lebout on the scorecards.
The event streamed live and free on the Bellator MMA app. The action kicked off with the preliminary card at 1:30 p.m. ET. The main card followed at 5 p.m ET.
