On Saturday, May 12, the UFC will host UFC 224 from the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
In the night’s main event, Brazilian bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes will attempt to defend her belt against surging challenger Raquel Pennington. Nunes captured the title from Miesha Tate in July 2016, and has defended it twice. Her last win was a split decision over Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 215 last September. Pennington, meanwhile, is on a four-fight winning streak, but has not seen the inside of the Octagon since November 2016 due to injury.
Also on the card, top-5 middleweights Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Kelvin Gastelum will face off for a top contender spot in the stacked division.
The action kicks off at 6:15 p.m. ET with four bouts streaming live on UFC Fight Pass. Four additional preliminary-card bouts follow on FX at 8 p.m. ET, with the five-fight main card taking place at 10 p.m. ET on pay-per-view.
The fighters hit the scales at 4 p.m. ET on Friday. Video of the action appears above (courtesy of the UFC), while the results appear below.
