Bellator 170 Results: Ortiz Submits Sonnen, Daley Crushes Ward

On Saturday, Jan. 21, Bellator MMA hosted its 170th event from The Forum in Inglewood, Calif.

In the night’s main event, former UFC light heavyweight champion and Bellator MMA title challenger Tito Ortiz closed the book on his storied career as he took on fellow UFC veteran Chael Sonnen. The 41-year-old Ortiz saw a career resurgence under the Bellator banner, winning his first two bouts with the promotion before coming up short in his quest for gold. Sonnen, meanwhile, made his promotional debut after serving a lengthy suspension for performance-enhancing drug use. The 39-year-old last competed in 2013, where he was stopped by Rashad Evans at UFC 167.

The rest of the card was full of notable names, including Paul Daley, Brennan Ward, Ralek Gracie, Hisaki Kato and Georgi Karakhanyan.
