Bellator 167 Results: Caldwell Gets Revenge Against Taimanglo, Teixeira Cruises Past Lawrence

On Saturday, Dec. 3, Bellator MMA hosted its 167th event from the WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Okla. The event was the second of back-to-back events by the promotion, with Bellator 166 having taken place Friday, Dec. 2 from the same location.

In the night’s main event, bantamweights Darrion Caldwell and Joe Taimanglo met for the second time. Caldwell, a former NCAA wrestling national champion, opened his MMA career with nine straight wins. That came to crashing halt when he met Taimanglo at Bellator 159 and was submitted in the third round by guillotine choke. The upset win marked the fourth straight inside the Bellator cage for Guam’s Taimanglo.

Also on the main card, undefeated flyweight Ilima-Lei MacFarlane took on Emily Ducote.
