GLORY’s next European fight card has a headliner.
On Monday, the promotion revealed that GLORY 25 will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between Dutch champion Robin van Roosmalen and GLORY 22 tournament winner Sittichai Sitsongpeenong. The event takes place Friday, Nov. 6 from the PalaIper in Monza, Italy.
Van Roosmalen will continue his recent wave of momentum inside the GLORY ring. The 25-year-old captured the belt at GLORY 18 with a decision win over Davit Kiria. He followed that up with a dominant performance against Andy Ristie at GLORY 20 to cement himself as the promotion’s top lightweight.
Thailand’s Sittichai established himself as the No. 1 contender in June by capturing the GLORY 22 contender tournament with wins over the aforementioned Kiria and Canada’s Josh Jauncey. The 24-year-old also captured The Fight League 70 kg tournament in August to continue his run of success.
The night’s co-main event features the return of former pound-for-pound king Giorgio Petrosyan, who will aim to put himself back in the lightweight title mix. The Italian will take on the Canadian Jauncey in his own backyard.
Additional bouts for the event, including the participants in the one-night, four-man welterweight contender tournament, will be announced in the coming weeks.
