On Saturday, June 27, the UFC will host UFC Fight Night 70: Machida vs. Romero from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla.
In the night’s main event, former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida aims to re-establish himself as a middleweight contender as he takes on Cuba’s Yoel Romero. Machida will look to bounce back from his second-round submission loss to No. 1 contender Luke Rockhold in April. Romero, meanwhile, has yet to taste defeat inside the Octagon. The wrestling stalwart has reeled off five straight wins to climb the 185-pound ranks.
The co-main event features TUF Brazil alum Santiago Ponzinibbio against striking specialist Lorenz Larkin. Ponzinibbio has earned back-to-back wins since dropping his official promotional debut in late 2013. Larkin snapped a three-fight skid with a first-round demolition of John Howard in January.
The nine-fight event kicks off Saturday with four preliminary card bouts airing live on Fox Sports 2 at 8 p.m. ET. The five-fight main card follows at 10 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
