On Friday, Dec. 9, Enfusion traveled across the Mediterranean Sea to host the promotion’s inaugural event in Abu Dhabi, UAE, Enfusion Live 45: Abu Dhabi.
In the night’s main event, the 67-kilogram tournament champion was crowned. Eight fighters competed for the chance to earn a bid into the Enfusion League 67-kilogram field in 2017. In the semifinal action, England’s Charlie Peters fought South Africa’s Ncedo Gomba, China’s Vang Moua took on Morocco’s Ayoub Ahmamou, Pakistan’s Naqqash Khan battled Nigeria’s Onem Richard Ase, and Morocco’s Mohamed Didouh collided with Romania’s Lucian Mocanasu.
In the evening’s main card action, former Enfusion heavyweight champion Ismael Lazaar returned against Nigeria’s Gideon Ogenyi Ogaba. Enfusion Women’s 61-kilogram champion Mirisa Pires defended her title against the Netherlands’s Aleide Lawant. Moroccan middleweight Boubaker El Bakouri crossed paths with Russia’s Rustam Guseinov.
