On Saturday, Dec. 19, the UFC hosted UFC on Fox 17: Dos Anjos vs. Cerrone 2 from the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla.
In the night’s main event, lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos looked to make the first defense of his 155-pound title when he rematched Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. The Brazilian dos Anjos captured the belt with a dominant win over Anthony Pettis at UFC 185 in March. He entered the contest riding a four-fight winning streak. Cerrone, meanwhile, was out for revenge as he aimed to avenge a closely contested 2013 decision loss to the champion. Since that defeat, the 32-year-old had reeled off eight straight wins, including five finishes.
The 13-fight event kicked off Saturday with three preliminary card bouts streaming live on UFC Fight Pass at 3:30 p.m. ET. Six additional preliminary card bouts aired live on Fox Sports 1 at 5 p.m. ET, with the four-fight main card taking place at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
