On Saturday, Oct. 24, the UFC hosted UFC Fight Night 76: Holohan vs. Smolka from the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.
The event was originally slated to be headlined by a lightweight clash between Dustin Poirier and Ireland’s Joseph Duffy. However, Duffy was injured during training and forced off the card at the last minute. Poirier was subsequently removed the event as well.
In the night’s replacement main event, Irish flyweight Paddy Holohan faced off with Louis Smolka. Holohan had earned back-to-back decision wins to bounce back from the first defeat of his career in late 2014. He was out for revenge against Smolka, who bested his countryman, Neil Seery, at UFC 189 in July.
With the shuffled line-up, the lightweight contest between TUF Smashes winner Norman Parke and Sweden-based fighter Reza Madadi was moved into the co-main event.
The 10-fight event kicked off Saturday with six preliminary card bouts streaming live on UFC Fight Pass at 1:15 p.m. ET. The four-fight main card followed at 4 p.m. ET, also on UFC Fight Pass.
