On Thursday, Nov. 6, the UFC hosted the weigh-ins for UFC Fight Night 55: Rockhold vs. Bisping which takes place Friday, Nov. 7, from the Allphones Arena in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
In the main event of the evening, former Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold takes on The Ultimate Fighter season three winner Michael Bisping. Rockhold enters the contest on the heels of back-to-back, first-round finishes of Tim Boetsch and Costas Philippou. Ten of the 30-year-old’s 12 career wins have come before the final bell. England’s Bisping, meanwhile, has alternated wins and losses for the past three years inside the Octagon. He was most recently in action in August, when he stopped another former Strikeforce champion, Cung Le, via fourth-round TKO at UFC Fight Night 48.
The co-main event features a lightweight contest between TUF season nine winner Ross Pearson and TUF: Live runner-up Al Iaquinta. The Brit Pearson has tasted defeat just once in his last five outings and scored a second-round TKO over former title challenger Gray Maynard in August. Iaquinta earned his fourth Octagon victory in September, stopping Brazilian Rodrigo Damm in the third round by TKO.
The 11-fight event kicks off Friday with seven preliminary card fights streaming live on UFC Fight Pass at 5:30 p.m. ET. The four-fight main card follows at 10 p.m. ET, also on UFC Fight Pass.
