In Joe Rizzo’s absence, it was like having Daniel Cormier in the house as MMA Mania’s Michael Stets (@Michael_Stets) and Rear-Naked Choke Radio host Jason Kelly (@JayKellyMMA) brojr down UFC 189 and Invicta FC 13.

Audio available for download on iTunes or on Stitcher Radio

UFC 189 takes place on July 11 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The dual title-fight card is headlined by Conor McGregor and Chad Mendes doing battle for the interim featherweight belt and welterweight champion Robbie Lawler puts his belt on the line in a co-main event affair against Rory MacDonald. Stets and Kelly also highlight other key matches on the card, such as Brandon Thatch vs. Gunnar Nelson, Dennis Bermudez vs. Jeremy Stephens, Matt Brown vs. Tim Means and more.

Invicta FC 13 is scheduled to go down on July 9 at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. The main event features featherweight champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino vs. Faith Van Duin in a fight that many people speculate could be the Brazilian’s last fight in the weight division. Stets and Kelly provided a brief overview of the event and discuss the possibility of Justino dropping to the 135-pound division and eventually squaring off against the face of women’s MMA, UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.
