PFL Europe 1: 2024 Regular Season kicks off the fight season live from Paris, France. This will begin the quarterfinal round of two tournaments – welterweight and lightweight. Plus, the main event will see Cédric Doumbé take on “Baki” Baissangour Chamsoudinov.
Welterweight Tournament
The first tournament bout of the evening will see Tomasz Łangowski (6-4-0), of Poland, in a showdown against Albania’s Florim Zendeli (7-1-1). Both “Mad Dog” Łangowski and Zendeli have won nearly all of their matches by way of knockout. This welterweight quarterfinal bout likely will not see the final bell.
Bulgaria’s Marian Dimitrov (10-3-0) has been booked against Erhan Kartal (11-2-0), of Austria. Dimitrov has most recently been keeping busy in bare-knuckle boxing. “No Mercy” Kartal is a fighter who aims for a KO finish in all of his bouts.
“The Scientist” Yassin Najid (9-4-0), of France, will meet the Italian-born athlete “The Cyborg” Daniele Miceli (11-5-0). Both of these welterweight athletes are submission specialists, it will be a competitive match on the ground.
The French-Angolan athlete Chequina Noso Pedro (8-3-0) is set to face “Freezer” Ibrahim Mané (13-4-0), of The Gambia. Mané is unbeaten in ARES FC and has experience in Bellator and Brave. Noso Pedro will be looking to move to the next round of this tournament and make it three wins in a row.
Lightweight Tournament
Poland’s Jakub Kaszuba (11-0-0) is returning to make it two PFL Europe tournament championships in a row. Last year, the unbeaten fighter picked up the crown and $100,000 now he’s looking to do it again. It begins against “The Danger” Kane Mousah (14-5-0), an experienced English fighter who has spent much of his career in Bellator MMA.
In another lightweight quarterfinal bout, Latvia’s “Pretty Boy” Aleksandr Chizov (10-2-0) faces the Italian-Irish Daniele Scatizzi (12-7-0). Scatizzi is coming off a loss in Bellator and will be fighting hard to get back in the win column. Chizov, a training partner of Khamzat Chimaev, has put his training at Tiger Muay Thai to good use earning a knockout-win rate of 67 percent.
Yazid Chouchane (10-4-0), of France, is looking for redemption. After getting KO’d by Dylan Tuke in the PFL in Dublin, he is looking to get back to form against the Spanish fighter “Levium Armorum” Ignacio Capella (7-1-0). Capella trains out of American Top Team and is on a six-fight winning streak.
England’s Connor Hughes (8-1-0) is looking to earn what he feels is rightfully his. PFL Europe in 2023, Hughes felt that the tournament was his to take until he was stopped by Tuke. Now, he is looking to take the belt and $100,000 home. The English-born fighter comes from a long line of martial artists and has a background in kickboxing. In this quarterfinal bout, Hughes will meet Germany’s Anatolij Baal (10-3-0), who is in a rush to win his matches by first-round KO.
Cédric Doumbé vs. Baissangour Chamsoudinov
The French striker “Baki” Baysangur Chamsoudinov (7-0-0) will have the biggest challenge of his career as he faces former GLORY Kickboxing world champion Cédric Doumbé (5-0-0). “Baki” is unbeaten and has won most of his fights by way of knockout.
Doumbé is a former welterweight GLORY world champion and a dangerous knockout striker. Thus far in MMA, he has earned five consecutive wins all by way of knockout. The match is sure to be fireworks live from the Accor Arena in Paris, France.
