K-1 vs. RISE Matchups Announced for March: Champions vs. Champions

K-1 Kickboxing and RISE World Series have announced several showdown matchups between the promotions, including champion-vs.-champion bouts. These kickboxing fights have been booked across two events in March – RISE ELDORADO 2024 on Mar. 17 and K-1 World MAX 2024 on Mar. 20.

K-1 vs. RISE Kickboxing Matchups Announced

RISE ELDORADO 2024

Announced through a press conference on Feb. 2, RISE ELDORADO 2024 on Mar. 17 will feature several K-1 vs. RISE bouts. The events is headlined by a battle between highly-skilled RISE champions in Shiro vs. Toki Tamaru.

The knockout striker, and RISE lightweight champion Kan Nakamura will face Yuki Yoza, who holds the K-1 lightweight championship. Nakamura is a kickboxer with nearly an 80-percent knockout win rate. Yoza is a highly proficient striker on a seven fight win streak.

One of the most exciting fighters active in kickboxing, and former RISE bantamweight champion, Masahiko Suzuki has been booked against Akihiro Kaneko, the current K-1 super bantamweight titleholder. This is expected to be an electrifying clash.

Additionally, for K-1 vs. RISE matches, this Mar. 17 event will see Ryu Hanaoka against Koji Ikeda, Hyu faces Ryuka, and Yuki Tanaka meets Koya Saito. RISE is expected to have Chadd Collins and Taiju Shiratori fighting on the card, but neither has a confirmed opponent.

K-1 World MAX 2024

The K-1 World MAX 2024, on Mar. 20, fight card will kick off the 16-man 70kg grand prix. This tournament is set to have Hiromi Wajima and Ouyang Feng, among several others. Plus, it has been confirmed to host multiple K-1 vs. RISE matches.

The K-1 featherweight champion Taito Gunji will face Keisuke Monguchi, who is the featherweight champion in RISE. These two strikers are entering this match on a combined 18-fight winning streak.

Female champions are set for a showdown as the K-1 atomweight titleholder Miyuu Sugawara has been booked against Koyuki Miyazaki, the atomweight queen in RISE. Both fighters have an impressive set of wins, and a spot on the women’s pound-for-pound will likely be up for grabs.

Plus, former champions Yuki Egawa and Hyuma Hitachi will meet, in addition to Shoki Kaneda facing Daiki Toita and Yuta Matsuyama set for a showdown agaisnt Andrei Haraguchi.
