GLORY 70 Results: Groenhart Knocks Out Jones, Claims Interim Title

On Saturday, Oct. 26, GLORY Kickboxing returned to Lyon, France for its 70th event.

In the night’s main event, former welterweight champion Murthel Groenhart clashed with American Troy Jones for the interim title. Groenhart was originally slated to challenge current titleholder Cédric Doumbé, but the Frenchman was forced to withdraw due to injury. The Dutch fighter Groenhart looked to rebound from a loss to recent title challenger Alim Nabiev. Jones entered the match-up carrying a 13-1 record that includes 11 knockouts. He was most recently in action at GLORY 68 in Miami, scoring a first-round knockout.

The action kicked off with a live preliminary-card stream on YouTube at 11:30 a.m. ET. The night’s SuperFight Series took place at 1 p.m. ET on UFC Fight Pass. The GLORY 70 main card began at 3 p.m. ET, also on UFC Fight Pass.
