On Saturday, April 20, the UFC makes its second trip to Russia, hosting its seventh event on ESPN+ from the Yubileyniy Arena in St. Petersburg.
In the night’s main event, former heavyweight title challenger and longtime combat sports icon Alistair Overeem takes on submission specialist Aleksei Oleinik. Overeem was originally tabbed to face Alexander Volkov, but the Russian was pulled from the card and replaced by his countryman Oleinik on short notice. Overeem aims to build on the momentum of his stoppage win over Sergei Pavlovich in November. Oleinik was last in action at the promotion’s Russian debut last September, submitting Mark Hunt.
The 12-fight event kicks off with six preliminary-card bouts streaming live on ESPN+ at 10 a.m. ET. The six-fight main card follows at 1 p.m. ET, also on ESPN+.
The fighters hit the scales at 11 a.m. ET on Friday, April 19. Video of the action (courtesy of the UFC) appears above, while the results will be posted below as they become available.
