On Saturday, May 19, the UFC hostedĀ UFC Fight Night 129: Maia vs. UsmanĀ from theĀ Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile.
In the night’s main event, former middleweight and welterweight title challenger Demian Maia stepped in on short notice to take on surging wrestling stalwart Kamaru Usman. The 40-year-old Maia was looking to snap a two-fight skid, having fallen short against current champion Tyron Woodley and top-10 fighter Colby Covington. Usman, meanwhile, had yet to taste defeat inside the Octagon. He looked to extend his winning streak to 12 against the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion.
The action kicked off at 6:30 p.m. ET with three bouts streaming live on UFC Fight Pass. Four additional preliminary-card bouts followed on Fox Sports 2 at 8 p.m. ET, with the six-fight main card taking place at 10 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
