UFC on Fox 29 Results: Poirier Stops Gaethje, Oliveira Chokes Condit

On Saturday, April 14, the UFC hosted UFC on Fox 29: Poirier vs. Gaethje from the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz.

In the night’s main event, top-ranked lightweights Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje locked horns. Poirier had gone 6-1 with one no-contest since moving up to lightweight in 2015. Gaethje, the former World Series of Fighting titleholder, suffered his first defeat in his last Octagon appearance against former UFC champion Eddie Alvarez. The fighters, who have combined for 25 knockout victories, were looking to state their case for a shot at the 155-pound belt.

In the co-main event, former interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit returned to action against Brazilian Alex Oliveira.
