Bellator 177 Results: Dantas Tops Higo, Weichel Ekes Past Teixeira

On Friday, April 14, Bellator MMA hosted its 177th event from the Budapest Sports Arena in Budapest, Hungary. The card was a joint event with Bellator Kickboxing 6.

In the night’s main event, the promotion’s bantamweight title was supposed to be on the line between Brazilians Eduardo Dantas and Leandro Higo. However, Higo missed weight and the fight was changed to a three-round, non-title affair. The 28-year-old Dantas recaptured the belt last summer, defeating Marcos Galvao for a second time. Dantas then exacted revenge against Joe Warren in December. Higo, meanwhile, was making his promotional debut following a stint as the RFA champion. “Pitbull” also appeared on The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 4.

The action kicked off Friday at 12 p.m. ET. The four-fight main card aired via same day tape-delay on Spike TV at 9 p.m ET.
