On Thursday, Oct. 30, Titan FC hosted the weigh-ins for its 31st event which takes place Friday, Oct. 31, from the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, Fla.
In the night’s main event, a pair of UFC veterans square off as lightweights Mike Ricci and Yoshiyuki Yoshida lock horns. The 28-year-old Ricci enters the bout having won back-to-back fights inside the Titan cage. The Canadian stopped Jorge Gurgel in his promotional debut and topped George Sotiropoulos in his most recent outing. Yoshida, meanwhile, will be making his promotional debut. The 40-year-old Japanese fighter struggled on the sport’s highest stage, but has rebounded with six straight wins, including victories under the ONE FC and Deep banners.
The co-main event of the event features former WEC champion Miguel Torres against Bellator veteran Desmond Green. Torres, who will be making his first appearance in the Titan cage, currently rides a three-fight winning streak. All three wins have come in 2014 on the regional circuit. Green saw his Bellator run come to an end in May with a submission loss to Daniel Weichel.
The 11-fight event kicks off Friday with two un-aired preliminary card bouts at 7 p.m. ET. Four additional prelims stream live on CBSSportsNetwork.com at 8 p.m. ET, with the five-fight main card airing live on the CBS Sports Network at 10 p.m. ET.
