Legacy FC 40 Results: East Stops Ritani-Coe to Retain Heavyweight Title

On Friday, March 20, Legacy Fighting Championship made its first trip to Georgia for its 40th event from Wild Bills in Atlanta.

In the night’s main event, the promotion’s heavyweight title holder, Cody East, put his belt on the line against New Zealand native, Brice Ritani-Coe. East captured the belt in October with a first-round stoppage of Vernon Lewis. The win moved his winning streak to six fights. East had stopped eight of his nine wins. Ritani-Coe stepped into the title fight on just three weeks notice after he dismantled Dale Mitchell at Legacy 39 in February. All four of the Syndicate MMA product’s wins had come via knockout.

The card also featured three-time Bellator veteran Dave Vitkay, who faced off with Tommy Jones, as well as former The Ultimate Fighter cast member and UFC veteran Clay Harvison, who met Joe Elmore.
