Kyokugen 2017 Results: Taguchi Bests Melindo, Wins Second World Title

On Sunday, Dec. 31, Watanabe Promotions held an event from the Ota-City General Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.

In the night’s main event, WBA world light flyweight titleholder Ryoichi Taguchi took on IBF world light flyweight champion Milan Melindo to unify the titles. Taguchi was unbeaten in his past eight bouts, while Melindo was victorious in five straight.
