On Saturday, May 14, Bellator MMA hosted its 154th event from the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif.
In the night’s main event, UFC veteran Phil Davis locked horns with former Strikeforce champion Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal. Davis impressed in his promotional debut last September, submitting former champion Emanuel Newton and then knocking out fellow UFC alum Francis Carmont to capture a one-night, four-man tournament. Lawal also captured a tournament of his own, winning three fights to en route to the Rizin FF crown on New Year’s Eve. The wins brought Lawal’s winning streak to seven heading into the match-up with Davis.
The event kicked off Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET with a live preliminary card stream, while the four-fight main card followed at 8 p.m ET live on Spike.
