As MMA continues to grow its presence with the UFC, Bellator MMA, WSOF and ONE FC, fighters are constantly jockeying for position in the eyes (and rankings) of the media.
Every week, Combat Press will rank each weight class from heavyweight to flyweight, as well as the pound-for-pound rankings (including both genders).

If the first meeting between UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw and Brazilian Renan Barão wasn’t convincing enough, then the pair’s rematch at UFC on Fox 16 put every doubt to rest. Dillashaw dominated Barão once again, earning a fourth-round TKO and cementing himself as the best 135-pound fighter on the planet. The loss dropped Barão to the No. 3 spot in our rankings, behind former champion Dominick Cruz, who may be the man to give Dillashaw a real test.

Dethrone one of the pound-for-pound best and a fighter earns consideration for the top 10. Finish a former champion twice? Then there’s zero question where they belong. T.J. Dillashaw’s next challenge is unclear, but his UFC on Fox 16 performance was more than enough to prove he’s one of the best fighters on the planet.
Editor’s Note: Fighters are eligible to be ranked if they have competed in the last 18 months. Any fighter that chooses to switch weight classes will be ranked in their previous weight class until they have competed in their new division.
