Bellator MMA Reveals Early 2015 Event Schedule

Prior to Bellator 131,President Scott Coker held a press conference to announce the upcoming event schedule for Bellator MMA. Three events were announced, as well as four title fights over the span of the first three months of 2015.

Bellator 132 is scheduled to take place at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, Calif. on Friday, Jan. 16. The main event will feature a featherweight title fight between current champion Patricio “Pitbull” Freire and former champion Daniel Straus. Freire comes into the fight on a five-fight winning streak, while Straus is 4-1 in his last five fights.

Bellator 133 is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 27 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The event is being titled British Invasion with four top British fighters coming over to challenge four top fighters. The event will have two title fights with welterweight kingpin Douglas Lima taking on British knockout artist Paul Daley. In the night’s co-main feature, light heavyweight champ Emanuel Newton will take on undefeated British star Liam McGeary. Also in the light heavyweight division, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou and Linton Vassell will battle in the Bellator cage. Finally, heavyweight Bobby Lashley will make his return to face England’s “Colossus” James Thompson.

Also announced was the return of “The Baddest Man on the Planet” Joe Warren. The bantamweight champion will be taking on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist Marcos Galvao at Bellator 134 on Friday, March 27 at the Winstar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Okla.
