As kickboxing continues to grow on a global scale with promotions like GLORY, K-1, Kunlun Fight and more, fighters are constantly jockeying for position in the eyes (and rankings) of the media.

Every month, Combat Press will rank each weight class from heavyweight to strawweight, as well as the pound-for-pound rankings for both men and women.

The numbers in parentheses represent the fighter’s ranking from last month.

Wu Lin Feng 2019 World Cup champion Jia Aoqi pushed his winning streak to eight following a decision victory against 65-kilogram champ Wang Pengfei in the opening round of the WLF 66-kilogram King’s Super Cup. His 24th career victory is enough to push him into the top three.

China’s Jin Ying shook up the bantamweight rankings with one of the biggest upsets of the year against former No. 6-ranked Zhu Shuai. Ying debuts at eighth following the huge decision victory in the Wu Lin Feng King’s Super Cup 63-kilogram tournament. Due to the change, Yuto Shinohara drops outside of the top 10. However, he will have a chance to return to the rankings when he faces off with current Krush champ and former top-10 member Gonnapar Weerasakreck at Krush.113 at the end of the June.

Zhao Chongyang, the Enfusion 60-kilogram champion, fell short in a big upset at the hands of China’s Fang Feida during the opening round of the Wu Lin Feng 2020 King’s Super Cup 63-kilogram tournament. Feida was able to score the technical stoppage against Chongyang with two knockdowns in a single round. Chongyang remains ranked despite the loss due to the circumstances of the bout taking place at 63 kilograms. The victor doesn’t have the resume to crack the bantamweight rankings. However, he has the chance to crack the top 10 when he fights Zhu Shuai on June 13 in China.
