RFC 35: Showdown Preview and Predictions

On Friday, Nov. 13, Real Fighting Championships will host its 35th event, dubbed RFC 35: Showdown, live from the Hilton Doubletree Hotel in Tampa, Fla.

The evening’s main event features up-and-coming welterweight and RFC veteran Ivan “Angry Bird” Delvalle, who will be looking to build on his submission victory of Sedric Johnson from RFC 34. He will take on John Ortolani, who will be looking to get out of his current three-fight skid.

This is a tough fight for the “Angry Bird.” He is taking on a fighter with considerably more experience than he currently has. And while Ortolani’s record currently sits at 7-9, some of those losses have come to former UFC, Bellator and Titan FC fighters. Ortolani has never been defeated by submission, but Delvalle just may have the skill set needed to change that. Delvalle should be able to score a submission win midway through the second round.

Two undefeated fighters clash in the co-main event when rising bantamweight Rory Every takes on Al “Speedy” Martinez. Every has improved in every showing, most recently finishing Devin Rodriguez by guillotine choke in just over a minute at RFC 33 in March. Martinez has lived up to his “Speedy” nickname and looks to make quick work of Every. Martinez will score the first-round TKO in this affair.

Other notable fights on the card include Luis “The Cuban Assassin” Zequeira against Caleb “American Made” Williams and Michael D’Angelo taking on Matt “The Steamrolla” Frevola. There are also seven fighters making their pro debut, including Augustus D’Angelo, Patrick Corrigan and Lorenzo “Juggernaut” Hunt.
