RISE World Series 2026 Tokyo 2 Preview: Osaki vs. Nasukawa 2

On Saturday, Sep. 19, RISE returns to the EBARA WAVE ARENA Ota in Tokyo, Japan, with RISE World Series 2026 Tokyo 2, and the Japanese kickboxing promotion has stacked the card with three title fights and a loaded group of contenders.

The main event features a highly anticipated rematch between RISE World Super Flyweight Champion Kazuki Osaki and Ryujin Nasukawa. The two met just over three months ago at the same venue, but this time there is significantly more on the line.

Osaki’s world title will be up for grabs.

Osaki and Nasukawa first collided at 55 kilograms during RISE World Series 2026 Tokyo in June. After three rounds failed to separate the two, Osaki took over in the extension round to earn the victory. Now, the pair will drop back to 53 kilograms, where Osaki will attempt to defend his RISE world championship.

The rematch also gives Nasukawa another opportunity to continue his rapid rise through the Japanese kickboxing scene. The former RISE super flyweight champion has quickly emerged from the shadow of his older brother, Tenshin Nasukawa, and established himself as one of Japan’s most promising young fighters.

However, Osaki remains one of the toughest assignments available at the weight. He already owns a victory over Nasukawa and enters Saturday’s fight intent on leaving considerably less doubt this time around.

The five-round format could add another wrinkle. Their first meeting was scheduled for three rounds with an extension, while Saturday’s world championship bout is scheduled for five rounds with another extension available if necessary.

Shiratori Defends Against YURA

The co-main event brings another intriguing title fight when Taiju Shiratori puts the RISE super lightweight championship on the line against YURA.

Shiratori has been one of the recognizable faces of RISE for years, but he finds himself facing a dangerous member of the promotion’s emerging generation. YURA enters as the division’s No. 1 contender after making his mark at 65 kilograms.

The challenger also participated in the GLORY x RISE Last Featherweight Standing tournament, where he defeated Lee Sung-hyun before eventually falling to Kento Haraguchi. Shiratori, meanwhile, acknowledged ahead of the fight that his recent performances have not met his own expectations and that he views the title defense as an opportunity to prove himself again.

That makes this more than a routine championship defense. Shiratori has a chance to reinforce his position atop the RISE super lightweight division, while YURA can take a significant step forward by knocking off one of the promotion’s established stars.

Matsumoto, Tsukamoto Settle Rivalry in Trilogy Fight

The third title fight could be the most personal.

RISE Flyweight Champion Tenshi Matsumoto defends his 51.5-kilogram belt against Momu Tsukamoto in the third meeting between the two rivals.

There has been no shortage of tension between Matsumoto and Tsukamoto in the buildup to the fight. Their rivalry has spilled onto social media and into promotional appearances, giving an already meaningful championship fight an additional layer of hostility.

Matsumoto has made his intentions clear. He wants to successfully defend his title and put an end to the rivalry by proving that Tsukamoto no longer belongs in the same conversation. Tsukamoto, the No. 2-ranked RISE contender and former DEEP☆KICK champion, finally gets the opportunity to take the belt from his rival.

With five rounds to work and plenty of history between them, there should not be much need for a feeling-out process.

Yasumoto Meets Petchpayathai

Immediately before the championship portion of the card, former RISE Featherweight Champion and 2025 S-Cup World Champion Haruto Yasumoto welcomes Thailand’s Petchpayathai Sor.Poonsawat to the RISE ring.

Yasumoto has established himself among the elite fighters in Japan’s crowded featherweight landscape. Saturday’s fight represents another international test as he works toward another world championship opportunity.

Petchpayathai brings a traditional Thai skill set into the match-up, something Yasumoto has specifically acknowledged heading into the fight. Yasumoto expects the kicking exchanges to play a significant role but has also indicated that he wants to demonstrate an advantage with his hands and ultimately find a finish.

RISE’s Bantamweights Fight for December

While three championships headline RISE World Series 2026 Tokyo 2, much of the rest of the main card revolves around the promotion’s stacked 55-kilogram division.

RISE is preparing for its World Series bantamweight tournament in December, making Saturday’s bouts critical opportunities for several fighters hoping to secure their positions in the field.

Former RISE super flyweight champion and ISKA world champion Ryu Hanaoka meets Yusei Horimoto, while former RISE bantamweight champion Masahiko Suzuki welcomes French ISKA champion Djillali Kharroubi.

Former Krush champion Masashi Kumura takes on Atsuki Yamada, and Ryoya Ito meets Toki Oshika in another important 55-kilogram contest.

With tournament positions potentially hanging in the balance, the four consecutive bantamweight fights give the middle portion of Saturday’s card plenty of significance beyond the individual wins and losses.

Shota Okudaira and Yutaro Asahi open the main card in a 62.5-kilogram lightweight contest.

The event also features three preliminary fights. Yumeto Mizuno meets Sora Koike at flyweight, Kodai Ono faces Renji Inoue at super flyweight, and Ryunosuke Ishikawa takes on Soya Tanigawa at super featherweight.

RISE World Series 2026 Tokyo 2 takes place Saturday, Sep. 19, from the EBARA WAVE ARENA Ota in Tokyo, Japan. The ABEMA broadcast begins at noon local time, with the preliminary card scheduled for 12:20 p.m. and the main card beginning at 1:30 p.m. JST.
