ONE Championship has added another explosive Muay Thai matchup to its Oct. 2 return to Bangkok.
Thai veteran Nakrob Fairtex will face Iranian knockout artist Parham Gheirati in a bantamweight Muay Thai bout at ONE Fight Night 48 inside Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Nakrob enters the matchup looking to build momentum in his new division. The Fairtex Training Center representative moved up to bantamweight and defeated former ONE flyweight Muay Thai title challenger Jacob Smith by unanimous decision at ONE Fight Night 44 in June.
The victory snapped a three-fight skid for Nakrob and showed that the 27-year-old could be a factor at bantamweight. After competing extensively at flyweight, Nakrob used his clinch work, knees and elbows to frustrate Smith and earn his 11th victory under the ONE Championship banner.
However, Gheirati presents an entirely different challenge.
The Iranian established himself as one of the most dangerous prospects to emerge from ONE Friday Fights, winning his first six appearances with the promotion. Four of those victories came by knockout, and the run earned Gheirati a $100,000 ONE Championship contract in October 2024.
His undefeated ONE record came to an end against Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon, who stopped Gheirati in the second round at ONE Fight Night 29. Gheirati responded by returning to his finishing ways, knocking out Tyson Harrison in the second round.
That victory improved Gheirati’s ONE Championship record to 7-1, with five knockouts.
The Oct. 2 matchup pits Nakrob’s experience and clinch-heavy Muay Thai game against Gheirati’s aggression and finishing power. Nakrob has already proven he can handle the move to bantamweight, but Gheirati represents an opportunity to make a much bigger statement in the division.
For Gheirati, beating an established ONE veteran such as Nakrob would provide another significant step forward after his rise through ONE Friday Fights.
With both fighters looking to establish themselves in ONE Championship’s bantamweight Muay Thai division, expect neither man to give up much ground when the bell rings in Bangkok.
