On Friday, Aug. 21, Legacy Fighting Alliance hosted LFA 240 live from F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville, Tenn. In the main event, Dedrek Sanders improved his record to 12-5 with a dominating decision over Luis Gomez.
This was the third win in a row for the former PFL veteran Sanders, who hails from nearby Nashville. The loss dropped Gomez, best known for his Combate Global run, to 11-7.
In the co-main event, Uzbekistan’s Akbarjon Islomboev scored a first-round submission over Brazilian journeyman Elvis Silva. There were more flashy finishes further down the card, too.
Shane Sobnosky dropped Andrew Stewart in the first exchange of the fight and had Stewart out on the ground in under 30 seconds. Stewart didn’t know where he was as he tried to complete a takedown while the referee waved it off. Dakota Ballard scored a big KO, too, knocking Triston Rutherford out cold in the first round.
Chuy Rodriguez notched an impressive win in his professional debut. He turned a slam from Jarred Gonzales into a first-round guillotine finish.
