The UFC is headed back to the City of Brotherly Love in a big way.
The promotion announced it will return to Philadelphia on Aug. 15 for UFC 330, marking its first numbered event in the city in 15 years. The card is set to take place at Xfinity Mobile Arena and will feature a championship bout, though the fight card has yet to be revealed.
The announcement was made by Dana White and Josh Shapiro during an appearance on Pat McAfee’s show, adding another major event to an already loaded year for the state.
Philadelphia hasn’t hosted a numbered UFC event since UFC 133 in August 2011, when Rashad Evans defeated Tito Ortiz in the main event at what was then known as the Wells Fargo Center. The city’s most recent UFC card came in March 2019, when Justin Gaethje scored a highlight-reel knockout over Edson Barboza in a Fight of the Night performance.
“Philadelphia has always been a great fight town, and I can’t wait to return,” White said, pointing to the timing of the event as the city prepares to host several global sporting showcases as part of the United States’ 250th anniversary celebration.
Governor Shapiro echoed that sentiment, emphasizing the broader significance of the event as Pennsylvania gears up for a banner year that includes the NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, the PGA Championship in Newtown Square, and matches tied to the FIFA World Cup in Philadelphia.
“This is a huge year for Pennsylvania,” Shapiro said. “All eyes are on the Commonwealth.”
The event will stream exclusively on Paramount+ in the United States and Latin America, continuing the UFC’s evolving broadcast landscape under its broader media partnerships.
UFC’s return to Philadelphia also reflects the organization’s increasing collaboration with local governments and private entities to bring marquee events to major markets. These partnerships have become a cornerstone of the promotion’s global expansion strategy, delivering not only high-profile fights but also measurable economic impact to host cities.
Ticket details for UFC 330 are expected in the coming weeks, with fans encouraged to register for early access. As always, the fight card remains subject to change, but with a championship bout already confirmed, the UFC’s long-awaited return to Philadelphia is shaping up to be one of the summer’s most significant events.
