On Friday, February 27, Legacy Fighting Alliance hosted LFA 227 live from Ventura County Event Center in Ventura, CA. The main event saw Brazilian Rafael do Nascimento take on ONE veteran Shuya Kamikubo in a number one contender bout for the bantamweight title (currently being held by Artem Belakh).
Do Nascimento would earn the right to fight Belakh after defeating Kamikubo by unanimous decision. Do Nascimento’s striking did a ton of damage, enough to cancel out the wrestling success Kamikubo had throughout the fight. Do Nascimento’s elbows did a lot of that damage, including splitting open the top of Kamikubo’s head causing an extreme amount of bleeding.
In the co-main event Allan Bergosso finished Arnold Jimenez with a second round TKO. Also on the card Theo Haig looked very good in dragging down Lance Wright for a rear naked choke in round two.
