UFC 215: Nunes vs. Shevchenko 2 Post-Fight Press Conference

On Saturday, Sept. 9, the UFC will host UFC 215: Nunes vs. Shevchenko 2 from Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

The event was slated to be headlined by flyweight kingpin Demetrious Johnson, who looked to set the record for most consecutive title defenses when he faced New Mexico’s Ray Borg. However, Borg fell ill during fight week and the bout was canceled on the eve of weigh-ins.

As a result, the night’s co-main event between women’s bantamweight titleholder Amanda Nunes and No. 1-challenger Valentina Shevchenko has been elevated to the headlining bout. The pair met previously in a three-round bout at UFC 196, with the Brazilian Nunes earning the decision victory. They were slated to rematch at UFC 213 in July, but Nunes was forced off the card on fight day due to illness.
