On Saturday, Dec. 10, the UFC hosted UFC 206: Holloway vs. Pettis from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
In the night’s main event, surging Hawaiian Max Holloway took on former lightweight titleholder Anthony Pettis. The bout was slated to be for the promotion’s interim featherweight championship, but with Pettis missing weight, only Holloway was eligible to leave the cage with the belt. The 25-year-old Holloway entered the contest having won nine straight fights, including six before the final bell. Pettis, meanwhile, made a successful debut at 145 pounds in August, submitting Brazilian Charles Oliveira via guillotine choke.
The co-main event featured a welterweight match-up between veterans Donald Cerrone and Matt Brown.
The 12-fight event kicked off Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET with three fights streaming on UFC Fight Pass. Four additional preliminary card bouts followed at 8 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1, with the five-fight main card airing live on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. ET.
