Bellator 231 Results: Mir Tops Nelson Again, Davis Stops Albrektsson

On Friday, Oct. 25, Bellator MMA hosted its 231st event from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.

The main event featured a heavyweight rematch between UFC veteran Frank Mir and Roy Nelson. Ithad been more than eight years since these two big men last collided inside the UFC Octagon.

In the evening’s co-headliner, Phil Davis continued to rebuild toward contender status following a loss to Vadim Nemkov. Davis most recently stopped fellow former Bellator champ Liam McGeary to return to the win column. He was tasked with Swedish upstart Karl Albrektsson, who entered the contest on a three-fight winning streak.

These two scraps topped a main-card lineup that also included blue-chip prospect Ed Ruth in a welterweight showdown with Jason Jackson, UFC veteran Bec Rawlings against Ilara Joanne, and WWE star Jake Hager in a heavyweight clash with Anthony Garrett.

The prelims kicked off at 6:45 p.m. ET on DAZN and Bellator.com. The main card followed at 9 p.m. ET with a simulcast on the Paramount Network and DAZN.
