UFC on ESPN+ 7 Results: Overeem Crushes Oleinik, Makhachev Tops Tsarukyan

On Saturday, April 20, the UFC made its second trip to Russia, hosting its seventh event on ESPN+ from the Yubileyniy Arena in St. Petersburg.

In the night’s main event, former heavyweight title challenger and longtime combat sports icon Alistair Overeem took on submission specialist Aleksei Oleinik. Overeem was originally tabbed to face Alexander Volkov, but the Russian was pulled from the card and replaced by his countryman Oleinik on short notice. Overeem aimed to build on the momentum of his stoppage win over Sergei Pavlovich in November. Oleinik was last in action at the promotion’s Russian debut last September, submitting Mark Hunt.

The 11-fight event kicked off with six preliminary-card bouts airing live on ESPN 2 at 10 a.m. ET. The five-fight main card followed at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
