On Saturday, July 28, the UFC hosted UFC on Fox 30: Alvarez vs. Poirier 2 from the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

In the night’s main event, former lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez rematched surging contender Dustin Poirier. The pair met previously at UFC 211 last May, but the fight was stopped after Alvarez landed knees to the head of a downed Poirier, resulting in a no-contest. Both fighters went on to defeat former WSOF champion Justin Gaethje, setting up the much-anticipated second meeting.

In the co-main event, former featherweight champion José Aldo took on power-punching veteran Jeremy Stephens.

Also on the main card, former women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk clashed with Tecia Torres.

The 13-fight event kicked off Saturday with five fights streaming live on UFC Fight Pass at 4 p.m. ET. Four additional preliminary-card bouts followed on Fox at 6 p.m. ET, with the four-fight main card airing live at 8 p.m. ET, also on Fox.
