On Sunday, Feb. 4, Kunlun Fight held its first show of 2018 in Guiyang, China, for Kunlun Fight 69.
In the 70-kilogram tournament semifinals, top-ranked lightweight and 2016 tournament champion Superbon Banchamek met Ukraine’s Sergii Kuliaba and former K-1 champion Marat Grigorian took on 2014 Kunlun Fight tournament winner Dzianis Zuev. The winner of each semifinal bout met later in the night in the final of the 64-man tournament.
In the night’s heavyweight tournament action, top-10 heavyweight Roman Kryklia bested WGP heavyweight titleholder Felipe Stievano Micheletti and China’s Asihati took on Iran’s Iraj Azizpour.
In the evening’s kickboxing action, two-time K-1 MAX champion Buakaw Banchamek fought 2017 70-kilogram tournament quarterfinalist Nayanesh Ayman, Belorussian Andrei Kulebin took on China’s Gu Hui, and 2017 75-kilogram tournament winner Vitaly Gurkov fought 2016 runner-up Zhang Yang.
In the night’s MMA action, Kunlun Fight flyweight champion Meixuan Zhang met Japan’s Tsubasa Akiyama, former welterweight titleholder Zhang Lipeng fought Italo Goncalves, and Yan Xibo battled Khama Worthy.Mark Abelardo.
The preliminary card aired live at 1:00 a.m. ET on Combat Press via FITE TV and Elite Boxing TV. The main card continued at 3:00 a.m. ET on Combat Press via FITE TV, Elite Boxing TV, Jiangsu TV (China), and Workpoint (Thailand).
