N'Dam vs. Murata 2

ESPN Boxing Results: Murata Gets Revenge, Shiro Defends WBC Title

On Sunday, Oct. 22, Top Rank and Teiken promotions combined to hold a show in Tokyo, Japan, for ESPN Boxing.

In the night’s main event, WBA world middleweight titleholder Hassan N’Dam couldn’t defend his title for the first time against Ryota Murata in a rematch of their championship bout in May. N’Dam topped the previously unbeaten Murata by controversial split decision to win the vacant belt. Following the first meeting, WBA judges Hubert Earle and Gustavo Padilla were suspended for six months for their controversial scorecards.

The event aired live at 7 a.m. ET on ESPN 2. The event replay aired at 6:30 p.m. ET.
